WATER DANCE - AQUATIC CONTACT IMPROVISATION
Enjoy learning water confidence and transferable water dance skills: grounding feet and moving across the pool in different ways; solo floating like a star, pencil and mushroom; treading water, glides, diving; breathing and holding breath; principles of contact improvisation dance.
Playful floating, diving and swimming journeys lead dancers to spontaneous dance. Making touch contact with others by leaning, sliding, falling, stroking, pulling, pushing, rolling, pivoting and lifting various body parts. Tumbling 360 degrees solo or with others like in a womb.
We believe the best way to achieve this freedom of movement is to create safe environments in which adults can be introduced to the water whilst having fun and by providing a contact improvisation dance programme that is both challenging and rewarding.
